Per the Statutes, the structure of IUPHAR is designed to accommodate the dynamic and diverse nature of pharmacology. A Section may be established by the IUPHAR Executive Committee either on its own or response to a request (see the Statutes text V.2 for application instructions). Normally, this would occur when an area of pharmacology has developed to the point at which a substantial number of pharmacologists are active in the area and for whom the progress in the area would be aided by a formal structure. If you are interested in forming a new IUPHAR section, please contact the Administrative Office.
A Subcommittee may be established by an IUPHAR Division or Section to support and strengthen a particular area of pharmacology to the point that it may choose to apply to become a Section.
